Companies forge creative partnership to develop and produce premium scripted content

LOS ANGELES – February 23, 2017 – Global independent studio Entertainment One (eOne) has entered into a multi-year overall television first-look deal with actors/directors and executive producers Steve Buscemi, Stanley Tucci and Wren Arthur’s Olive Productions.

The partnership expands eOne Television’s growing slate of first-look deals and creative partnerships with world-class talent. Under the deal, eOne will serve as the studio and will control worldwide rights to television projects produced out of the new partnership.

New York-based, Emmy-award winning Olive Productions was formed by Buscemi, Tucci and Arthur. The company produces an eclectic array of TV projects as well as narrative and documentary films. Using its combined and extensive experience, the company’s mandate is to tell stories with great characters, humor, and compassion.

Recent Olive Productions projects include Final Portrait, written and directed by Stanley Tucci and starring Geoffrey Rush and Armie Hammer, which premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival; Amber Tamblyn’s directorial debut, set to be released in May by Imagination; Paint It Black, starring Janet Mcteer and Alia Shawkat; Check It, a documentary about an African-American gay street gang, directed by Toby Oppenheimer and Dana Flor (The Nine Lives of Marion Barry), and set to be released in 2017; Submission, based on the Francine Prose novel; and Blue Angel, written and directed by Richard Levine and starring Stanley Tucci, Addison Timlin and Kyra Sedgwick. Olive is currently prepping a New York based feature for Puzzle by Annie Baker and Oren Moverman in May 2017.

Golden Globe and SAG Award winner Buscemi currently stars opposite Louis CK in CK’s original series, Horace and Pete. Buscemi is also an Emmy®-award winner for his AOL talking series Park Bench with Steve Buscemi, a News & Documentary Emmy® award-winner for Medora, and Emmy nominated director whose television directing credits include The Sopranos, Portlandia, and Nurse Jackie.

Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe and Emmy® award-winner Tucci premiered his fifth directorial feature, Final Project, at Berlinale. He made his feature directing debut with 1996’s Big Night. Upcoming roles include Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and Transformers: The Last Knight, and The Children Act. He’s will also portray legendary Hollywood mogul Jack Warner in Ryan Murphy’s new series, Feud, about the rivalry between Joan Crawford and Betty Davis.

Two-time Emmy® winner Wren Arthur is the head of production and development as well as an executive producer at Olive Productions. Arthur’s producing credits include Check It, Paint It Black, A Good Job, Park Bench Seasons 1&2, Medora, Submission, Puzzle, A Prairie Home Companion, Henry May Long, and Saint John of Las Vegas. Before co-founding Olive, Arthur worked with esteemed director/writer/producer Robert Altman.
